LG Electronics will unveil its newest addition to its Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem, the SmartThinQ Hub, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2016) in Las Vegas next week. The SmartThinQ features a speaker and a 3.5-inch screen, and acts as a “gateway” to monitor and control your home appliances such as washing machines, refrigerators, ovens, robotic vacuum cleaners, air conditioners and a variety of sensors. Disney’s Wall-Climbing Robot

Not even walls can stop VertiGo, a four-wheeled, wall-climbing robot developed by Disney and ETH Zurich. VertiGo can quickly transition from rolling on the ground to climbing obstacles. The robot has two tiltable propellers that provide thrust onto the wall, and four wheels. One pair of wheels is steerable, and each propeller can adjust the direction of thrust. By transitioning from the ground to a wall and back again, VertiGo extends the ability of robots to travel through urban and indoor environments.
